Ayr Farmers' Market

Update on the 2026 Season!

Late last year, I made the decision to pause the market for the 2026 season, with the intention of returning in 2027.  I had previously shared this with full season vendors, but wanted to now update the broader community as well.

Due to the upcoming ACC construction, we are unable to continue using our current location. Over the past months, I worked closely with the Township to explore an alternative site that had the potential to be a wonderful new home for the market.  While there was a lot of promise, timelines ultimately did not come together in time for me to confidently move forward for the 2026 season.

I especially want to thank the Township for all of the time, effort, and support they put into trying to make an alternate location possible.  This outcome is absolutely not due to a lack of hard work or support from them.  Unfortunately, the process simply took longer than expected and there was too much uncertainty to responsibly move ahead with planning next season.

Anyone involved in farmers markets knows that planning begins many months in advance, especially when it comes to securing farm and food vendors.  As timelines continued to shift, I did not feel comfortable risking major challenges or a late cancellation close to opening day.

To all of our vendors, customers, musicians, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who has supported the market over the years, THANK YOU!

The Ayr Farmers Market has always been something very special to me, and I am incredibly grateful for the community that has been built around it.

The alternative downtown location we explored could still become a strong option for 2027, and I plan to continue looking into it.  It has the potential for a better layout and even vendor parking directly behind tents, which could be a really wonderful improvement moving forward.  At the same time, the ACC location will always feel like home, and returning there once renovations are complete would absolutely remain an option if needed.

Thank you again for your understanding and continued support. I look forward to welcoming everyone back when the market returns.

Goal and Creed:

Having a successful market for both the community AND local farmers is our top priority.
For Here To There Market Events Inc. the main point of the market for members of the township, is to allow residents and neighbouring communities to have a market available nearby to find fresh local products. People would like to support the farms and businesses that are nearby, they would like to know where their food is coming from, and after two years of turmoil, start making connections with others in the community.
For the local farms/farmers, we want to be able to give a location that is not only close to home, but where they can find meaningful connections with a loyal customer base. There are a lot of farms around North Dumfries. People want to support local, but sometimes won't due to lack of knowledge of what is available and lack of convenience.
We hope that everyone will have a very positive experience at the market and enjoy participating. We aim to optimize success in our market and ensure this market becomes a lasting community staple!
